From açaí to matcha, our journey has always been about sharing products we genuinely love.

Mokki was founded by Aurora & Kenny, born from our journey with Oh Açaí, a market stall started as a side hustle alongside our full-time jobs. For 1.5 years, we worked seven days a week to build it from the ground up before transitioning into running it full time.

As we grew, so did our curiosity. What began with a passion for açaí evolved into a deeper appreciation for Japanese tea and matcha. This led us to travel to Japan multiple times where we learned directly from tea farmers, producers, and industry experts, gaining a deeper understanding of the craft behind every harvest.

With this evolution, Oh Açaí became Mokki. It marked a new chapter focused on expanding into a wider range of matcha-driven offerings.

The name Mokki reflects our journey.

“M- Matcha, O- Oh Acai, K- Kenny, I- Ian (Aurora's middle name)''

It also carries a second meaning. “Mo” for modern and “Ki” for energy. To us, matcha represents daily energy, a simple ritual that starts our day.

Today, Mokki is dedicated to thoughtfully sourced Japanese teas and products that celebrate their flavour, craft, and story, while still staying rooted in our original passion for açaí bowls.
