From açaí to matcha, our journey has always been about sharing products we genuinely love.

Mokki was founded by Aurora and Kenny, inspired by our journey with Oh Açaí, a market stall that began as a side hustle before growing into a full-time business. Along the way, our passion expanded beyond açaí and into the world of Japanese tea and matcha.

Through multiple trips to Japan, Aurora immersed herself in matcha and green tea education, learning directly from tea farmers, producers, and industry experts. From understanding cultivation and harvesting techniques to witnessing the craftsmanship behind tea production, these experiences fostered a deep appreciation for the people, knowledge, and traditions behind every cup.

What began as curiosity soon became a passion. Drawn to the quality of Japanese tea and the stories behind it, Aurora wanted to bring that experience home, not only by sourcing exceptional matcha and tea, but also by sharing its culture, craftsmanship, and knowledge with the wider community.

These experiences led to the next chapter of our journey: Mokki.

The name Mokki reflects our story - M for Matcha, O for Oh Açaí, K for Kenny, and I for Ian, Aurora's middle name. It also carries another meaning: Mo for modern and Ki for energy.
